Rather than envisioning ‘access’ as an adjunct to coastline navigation, this project takes them both as inextricably linked via their co-interaction across the vertical. A Paradox of Motion examines topography as a mediator for the interaction between body and landscape which, through sequential navigation, dictates the extent of its fragmentary reveal. As such, a performance unfolds between an audience in motion and a performer in stasis. A 12 hour performance of spectacle is arranged across the coastline: orchestrated to reveal unexpected phenomena in a visceral journey across time and scale.
