ABOUT

The Cinematic Landscape Exchange is a creative platform established with the aim of interrogating the potential for creating cinematic space in non-urban environments, based on the unique capacity of film to construct a sense of duration that is not dissimilar to our own.

We aim to expand architectural discourse and generate genuinely novel research on the practice of filmmaking and its relationship to landscape in the broadest sense.

The work of Intermediate Unit 7 at the Architectural Association, and Unit K at the Oxford Brookes School of Architecture is a central element of the CLE, where projects present diverse points of departure across the boundaries of both filmmaking in and of itself, but also the possibilities of a cinematic architecture that is a direct result of the use of this medium.
