It extracts fragments from two material practices and introduces them into the landscape, creating the potential for a home. This expression of cultures displaces material from its surroundings, as molten lava did in the formation of the landscape itself. With the carved stone reliefs revealing the story of Scottish migration, while offering a starting point to re-inhabit the land, the datums serve as waypoints for the meeting of past and future.
