CINEMATIC
LANDSCAPE
EXCHANGE

Towards the end of may INTER 7
brought together current and former students, architects, artists and friends of the unit for our annual screening
The final screening is our comittment to showing young architect’s work in this format. It comes in the last few weeks of the year and so represents largely finalised work. Although, it is often the case that many edits are made following these films, before the final tables.
“This year, on the Isle of Sheppey, we discovered the capacity of film to resequence the landscape’s unusual relationship with time, manifested in its evolving topography, geology, archaeology, climate and society. It was through montage that new readings emerged. ”I am seeking a principle of montage that will allow me to expose the subjective logic - the thought, the dream, the memory - instead of the logic of the subject”, Tarkovsky taught us”
The screening took place on Thursday, 25 May at 2:30PM in the Mark Cousins Lecture Hall at the Architectural Association, 36 Bedford Square, London WC1B 3ES.
It was followed by an open discussion which was diverse and insightful. Thanks to our students for producing such incredible work!!
